Greetings! Please allow me to welcome you to the Girls’ C.E.O.Connection™. I am Sylvia Scott, Founder, CEO, and Creative Director of this unique organization. Our mission and passion lie in guiding high school girls towards fulfilling futures as self-sufficient entrepreneurs-both established and up-and-coming. I want to see that what is presented here will bring out the best in all our clients, young female entrepreneurs, followers, and supporters. 

 

My Professional Background 

A career spanning over 25 years includes work in event coordination, public relations, non-profit fundraising, conference management, and business development. All of them in the name of supporting and collaborating with female entrepreneurs. I enjoy bringing people together and have done so through fundraising events, fashion shows, celebrations and more. Managing the Women’s Leadership Exchange national conferences allowed me to meet hundreds of accomplished women entrepreneurs across the country. It set the stage for what would become my life’s work.

In a similar way, my experience creating, and self-publishing several well-respected fashion industry guides laid the groundwork for becoming an author. My guide on the international fashion press was ordered by Paul Mitchell Hair, Betsy Johnson, the British Department of Trade and Industry and numerous PR and design agencies throughout the U.S. and U.K. Connecting with young fashion professionals in New York City, Los Angeles, and the U.K. was great fun and very enlightening. During that time, I  spoke at the Parsons School of Design in France while I was in London and Paris attending the seasonal fashion showings during their Fashion Weeks.

 

Service to Female Entrepreneurs Worldwide

While taking MBA courses at night at Babson College, I worked days for the Center for Women & Enterprise (CWE) in Boston where I developed the ‘Your Money, Your Power’ financial literacy and entrepreneurship summit for middle school and high school girls.

A move from Boston to Southern California would lead me to launch the Realizing a Vision Conferences and join forces with the Inland Empire Women’s Business Center (IEWBC) where I counseled women entrepreneurs for over ten years. Between 2016 and 2020, I virtually mentored Afghan women entrepreneurs with IEEW’s Peace Through Business® Program. During that time I also worked as a virtual business counselor and coach for the Coachella Valley Women’s Business Center (CVWBC). In 2019, DataBird Business Journal included me as one of 250 Inspiring Female Entrepreneurs. Currently I am the Colorado Ambassador for WED/Women’s® Entrepreneurship Day and have been since 2017. 

My Playtime

I believe it is our responsibility as human beings to take care of all creatures on our planet. That’s why I advocate for the conservation of wolves, bears, and other wildlife that are near to extinction.

And that is one reason I love chatting with young women in high school and college about their plans to change the world for the better. That’s another reason I volunteer as one of the high school youth group leaders at Grace Church. In addition I am a co-leader for its Art Club of boys and girls in 7th through 11th grades. Now these aren’t the only groups I belong to for fun, relaxation, and female camaraderie. One is the Polka Dot Powerhouse which is a connection company for women with members worldwide across the United States, United Kingdom, and Canada. Members build human and emotional connections with each other rather than looking strictly at the group for business networking. The other one is a small group of women who attend Grace Church. We get together to celebrate birthdays, work on community service projects, pray for one another and our families, and study the Bible.

To unwind, I use the TRX resistant training program and walk everywhere as much as possible. Television past-time is watching PPS’ Midsomer Murders, the BBC news programs, and The Musketeers.
